Dream Home

I want famous American interior designer Miles Redd to design my home.

He first moved to NYC to study film, but later realized he was more interested in decorating and interior design so he started working for an antique dealer John Rosselli.

Below are pictures of one of the apartments he decorated with beautiful colors and amazing ideas!

His work is amazing.

Redd started decorating his friends apartments in New York, then one job lead to the other which allowed him to open an office.

He has also been named Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta home

DvF Visits Zayed University

For the first time today, Diane on Furstenberg sets foot to give a lecture at a university in the Middle East. This time it was our turn!

Zayed University, Dubai with the help of Raja Al Gurg invited Diane to give a lecture about her life, the process of being such a successful designer and her journey in this world. She spoke about how she started, the difficulties she went through, and the accomplishments she's made.

Diane knew one thing after she got married at such a young age she knew she wanted to be independent and she knew she wanted to work.

She touched on a point that I think is something we should always remember as it's the key to success ...

" The most important thing is confidence. If you don't believe in yourself, NOBODY will"

...and i totally stand by that.

Simple Wishes

There are places you go…

Times you see…

People you cherish…

But with all the above there are hidden wishes in between,

Right down beneath,

That your heart wills to see,

Just some simple wishes,

I hoped would come alive,

Enter life in disguise and leave lots of happiness

With sparkles that never die …

The 70's hair!

We are all looking how to achieve vintage looks by buying the classic Chanels and 50's beautiful makeup as well as clothes! But when I came across this pic and I loved the hair!

Charlie's Angles
Farah's hair

Get the look:

After and clean wash ...

Divide your hair by making a middle parting.

Section each part of your hair. (keep ready for blow dry)

Blow dry your hair outward to achieve the volume and curl the ends for the flick.

Note: This exact look works if you have your hair is cut into steps!

Mary Quant?

Not only the popular inventor of the "Mini Skirts" & "Hot pants", Mary Quant the
creator and owner of 'Mary Quant' make up line that was born in the 1970's and 1980's.

Quant was a British fashion designer who studied illustration, before taking a profession at couture milliner. She started her early career with her husband Alexander Plunkett-Green.

ABOVE, are some of the images of the Makeup brand that used to be a "Must Have" back in the days when my mom was growing up. It was the Mac brand of those days according to my mother.

Mary Quant has written four books, one of which is her auto biography called:

Quant by Quant ...

Books on makeup:

Color by Quant
Quant on Makeup
&
Classic Makeup and beauty book

Quant resigned in 2000 when she sold the company to the Japanese, who have spread more than 200 stores of Mary Quant makeup today.
